Worst case scenario for buying a 2004 Buell?

I'm thinking about buying a 2004 XB9S from the Harley dealership in town, has 2,000 miles. I have heard good things about Buell and I've heard bad things about Buell. Also heard that the early models are not reliable and that the new Buells should have no problems. Anybody been an owner that can give me some tips or a heads up before buying?

The earlier Buell's did have problems, mostly with the frame and rubber mounting setup. It is like a Norton isolastic. I heard that they were very good about rectifying those problems, however.
The new models are quite reliable, by all accounts that I have heard. These new bikes have very new ideas and unique construction details but have been quite sturdy. Comparing them to the earlier conventional tube construction it seems strange, but I guess they worked on this design a lot.
The japanese are starting to copy some of the Buell details, like hiding most of the muffler under the engine. Using the frame for the fuel tank is a first, as is the swingarm as an oil tank. They even re-invented the wheel!
If you are attracted to the Buell you won't be happy with a plastic japanese bike. I surely wouldn't buy a used rice rocket, not after watching them ridden by the kind of people who buy them.
I have not been a Buell owner. I did test ridde a Buell before I bought my W650.
